Step 1: Installing a license for the Desktop App for MC
During the early part of the beta, Step 1 is not available. Also during the current beta, you may sometimes install without the app being signed, so you will need to tell the browser you trust it (each browser, indeed different between versions as well) do this differently.
SaaS customers of Maintenance Connection Canada (MCC)/Asset Pro Solutions Inc. (APS) and ITIQ Pro Inc.:
If you are on one of our SaaS environments, you can skip this step. it is automatically included for you.
On Prem customers
If you don't already have a Desktop App for MC license, you will need one.
If you are an on-prem customer, you can request a license. If you have your SMA for MC through us there is no cost for this. We are unable to provide this to customers that do not get their MC SMA through us.
You then go onto your server and install it like any MCe license. If you need help with this, mention that when you send your request to support@MaintenanceConnection.ca
As long as your SMA is paid up, you will continue to have access to this at no charge - it is included as part of your paid up SMA.
Step 2: Installing the Desktop App for MC
For your first installation, either your IT department will push it to you automatically, or you go here to get it:
To first download, then run the exe, it will need admin privileges. Some versions of the beta will be 'unsigned' causing your browser to try to prevent you from installing it. Each browser/version has a way around that. The final version will be signed using a high trust signing solution so shouldn't cause problems with any modern virus software.
It will auto upgrade as needed.
Your IT department may have to make some firewall changes to permit this.
